GUIDED READING

This is a school based program. Children participating will be those from our partner schools, guided reading will be conducted in small groups. At the beginning of the program children’s reading abilities will be assessed, and they will be grouped accordingly, relevant text will be assigned to the groups,keywords of the text will be introduced to allow children to familiarize with the story, activities will be prepared around the key words, interactive discussions around the plot, setting, theme,characters etc.

Individual attention is given to children by a guided reading leader to help children decode(read or turn a written word into a spoken word) and comprehend(understand the text and be able to speak or write about it) at an improved level.
